Playground Refresh

We're looking for a volunteers from our HQA Spring parent body and Masjid Ibrahim community to help refresh our school's playgrounds!

 

Tools Needed:

  • Pressure Washer (2)
  • Shovels (2)
  • Rakes to level the ground (1-2)
  • Hammers (3-4)

Cleaning both playground's sidewalks by pressure washing for a fresh clean look.

Bench Dismantling
Bench Dismantling and Removal
Carefully dismantling and removing the wooden benches from the playgrounds sidewalk spaces. Many of these benches have broken pieces of wood and are not as sturdy making it a safety hazard for our children. Participants should have the ability to safely carry heavy objects.

Swing Chain Taping
Removing the current plastic covering on the swing chain and retaping or adding a cloth swing chain cover to both the Montessori playground and older kids palyground's swings.

Ground Leveling
Ground Leveling
After the removal of the sand table, we'll need to level the ground to fill in any dips in the ground and make the surface is even for the children to utilize as a free play space.

Sand Table Removal
The current sand table has become a catch all for dirt and debris, and is no longer serving its intended purpose. In removing the sand table we will be creating more space for the kids to play under the existing canopy. Participants should have the ability to safely lift heavy objects.
